ER Navigator: Revolutionizing Emergency Room Access
The Story Behind ER Navigator
Imagine this: It’s a late Friday evening, and Lily, a 40-year-old single mother, begins experiencing chest discomfort and shortness of breath after dinner. She’s worried but unsure whether it’s an emergency. After Googling her symptoms and finding only vague, overwhelming results, she decides to head to the ER.
Without knowing which hospital has the shortest wait time or the best resources for her condition, Lily drives 30 minutes to the closest hospital. Upon arrival, she’s devastated to find an overcrowded ER with a 6-hour wait time. Frustrated, stressed, and still in discomfort, she wonders if another hospital might have been a better choice.
This scenario is all too common in Canada. Many patients face the same dilemma: where should they go for timely care during a medical emergency? Long wait times, lack of real-time information, and the stress of uncertainty make this decision even harder.
Our Solution
ER Navigator transforms this experience. Had Lily used our app, she would have:
- Quickly input her symptoms
- Received an immediate severity assessment
- Seen real-time wait times at nearby hospitals
- Got directions to the most suitable facility
Instead of guessing and hoping, patients can make informed decisions based on real data.

Join Us in Transforming Emergency Care
ER Navigator represents more than just an app – it’s a movement toward more efficient, patient-centered emergency care. By providing real-time information and smart recommendations, we’re helping create a healthcare system that works better for everyone.
Whether you’re a patient, caregiver, healthcare provider, or developer interested in contributing to this vision, we welcome your involvement. Together, we can make emergency care more accessible, efficient, and less stressful for all Canadians.
Plan for Release
I am hoping to release this app to the public for free based on the amount of time I get to complete it, and also based on other back-end solutions. The plan is to release a real-time tracker for hospital ER Wait-times, as many of the other ideas discussed above can get very time consuming. If you’d like to collaborate please do reach out to me. I can’t wait to see what this project turns into.
